Tommie grew up in East Tennessee learning and playing
bluegrass guitar under the tutelage of Steve Kaufman, 3 time National
Flatpicking Champion. He moved on to blues and rock music, and finally into
reggae and country, settling somewhere near the crossroads between all the
types of music he has played and been inspired by over the years. As big a
fan of Sam Cooke as Hank Sr, Tommie brings a vibe that is both down-home and
soulful to Homemade Wine's music. In recent years, Tommie has toured the
country with such acts as Knoxville's Plan A and rising country star Homer
Hart, as well as his solo projects.
